Our SVDP Essendon Conference relies on donations from the annual Winter Appeal to support people living right here in our community, in our neighbourhood. Last year, without the plates going around at Masses, donations were significantly down. This year we find ourselves again in lockdown. Without the usual generous donations from our parishioners, our Conference’s ability to support Companions will be severely limited at a time when the needs are so great. This year, instead of food and blankets, the team are asking for monetary donations so that they can purchase what is needed by Companions (people supported here in Essendon.)
Online donation https://donate.vinnies.org.au/winter-appeal Allocate your donation to our Vinnies team by putting ‘176 Essendon Conference’ in the comments field. Receipts will be automatically emailed out to donors
Over the phone using a credit card by calling 13 18 12. Allocate your donation to our Vinnies team by giving the name of our conference ‘176 Essendon Conference’ Receipts will be issued by the Fundraising Team
Cash or cheque donations, in clearly marked envelopes, can be dropped in the secure drop box next to the parish office door. Include your name, address and phone number if you require a receipt.
Any donations of clothing, doonas and blankets can be taken to the Vinnies shops on Keilor Rd Niddrie or Maribyrnong Rd Ascot Vale once they reopen.
We welcome John O’Connor (a member of our SVDP Essendon Conference) who will speak at Mass with Fr John this week (available to watch online here)
