St Therese’s has many groups and ministries that welcome new members at any time. Please contact the office if you’d like to join the ranks of our committed volunteers.

St Therese’s is committed to the safety, wellbeing and dignity of all children, young people and vulnerable adults. All volunteers at St Therese’s are required to hold a valid Working With Children Check.

Ministry/Group Description
Church Upkeep Brass Cleaning, Linen, Garden & Grounds, Building Maintenance and Counting
Finance and Planning Team Managing Parish finances and planning for our future. Making the Parish Vision a reality.
Kids at Mass (Children’s Liturgy of the Word) Helping children gain meaning from the Word of God. Parents and older siblings are encouraged to participate.
Knitters and Craft Circle Meets the last Thursday of every month in the Annex. All welcome.
Liturgical Ministries Sacristans, Music Ministry, Liturgy Ministry, Altar Servers Program, Collectors, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers and Data Projector Operators.
Meditation Group Meet weekly on Monday evenings at 7.30pm for Christian meditation. All welcome.
Parish Leadership Team A representative Group bringing together the hopes and dreams of the whole Parish Community.
Pastoral Care Group Communion to and drivers for the sick & elderly, Baptism preparation and visits to bereaved parishioners.
Reconciliation and support for Aboriginal Peoples Group of involved parishioners supportive of Aboriginal Issues and Opening the Door Foundation. No formal meetings , but meet online apart from preparing big Liturgies and setting up for special occasions.
Refugee and Asylum Seeker Group Visits families to offer support with language, material offers, friendship, rental assistance and links to the community. Meets every second month.
Sacramental Program Catechists volunteer their time to our Sacramental Program for young people not attending our school who are candidates for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation.
Sacramental Support Team Wedding, baptism and funeral co-ordinators who prepare our church and are parish ambassadors for these sacraments.
Senior Friendship Group Our Senior Friendship Group hold monthly morning teas and occasional guest speakers for all interested parishioners.
Spirituality Circle Reading a short inspiring text and relating this to our lives. In meeting and sharing this way we are hoping to strengthen our community of faith and trust. The Circle holds a monthly reading group 1st Tuesday of the month at 10.30 am. Current book is “An Astonishing Secret” by Daniel O’Leary
St Vincent De Paul Society Essendon Helping the needy in our local area.
Tiny Ts Playgroup Tiny Ts runs fortnightly on Tuesdays during school terms in PACE Function Room from 9am until 10.30am.
